Stage Sanchaar is a collaboration of several seasoned artists, who have come together to foster our love of the arts and our desire to support community-building, non-profit organizations using our talents. We seek to explore new and broader avenues of expression while maintaining the strengths of our individual art forms. While Bharata Natyam dance is our binding thread, each has trained in one or more systems of dance or related art forms, from Kuchipudi to Modern, classical music to folk music, etc. Since Stage Sanchaar’s debut in 2008, we have performed extensively in Austin, including First Night Austin and for Austin India Fine Arts. In May, 2009, our members were also invited to perform at the prestigious Bhagavata Mela Natakam Festival in Thanjavur, India. Stage Sanchaar has produced evocative performances for the support of community-building non-profit organizations which have opened to enthusiastic audiences. In April, 2011, SHIVA-Timeless Ideal, Endless Inspiration benefitted the Arts and Fitness Program for Young Children in Austin. The Power of YOU, addressing women’s empowerment, raised funds in Scottsdale, AZ, for Arizona South Asians For Safe Families in 2010, and in Miami, FL, for SAHARA of South Florida in 2013. A collaboration with 2 visual artists, our current production EMBRACE-a conversation about Change debuted in Milwaukee to benefit RedLine Art Gallery.
